A practical three-hour workshop covering paediatric first aid (choking, CPR, burns, head injury) and starting solids safely. Taught by a Registered Nurse / Midwife in a relaxed, supportive group — the class to do the week before you put a piece of broccoli in front of your baby.

Each starts in a different place. Most of you will see yourself in one of them — but the course is built to flex around whichever you are.

Respond to choking in an infant or toddler — back blows, chest thrusts, abdominal thrusts.
Perform infant and child CPR.
Recognise a febrile convulsion and a seizure that needs an ambulance.
Manage burns, head bumps, allergic reactions, and accidental ingestion.
Start solids safely — gagging vs choking, allergens, food sizing.

We move fast through the theory and slow on the practice. About 70% of the four hours is hands-on the manikins.

It's an awareness class with a certificate of attendance. It is not an EFR/EFAW workplace qualification — ask about our longer accredited day if you need that.
